Mumbai, Feb 10 (IANS): Indian swing bowler Praveen Kumar was Sunday suspended and issued show-cause notice by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a reported bust-up with an opposition player during a Corporate Trophy game in Bhilai.
Praveen has also been suspended from taking part in the forthcoming inter-state Vijay Hazare Trophy matches.
"Praveen Kumar has been issued a Show cause notice by the Board. He has been suspended from participating in the forthcoming inter-state Vijay Hazare Trophy matches," Sanjay Jagdale, BCCI secretary, said in a release.
BCCI's Disciplinary Committee is still investigating the incident when Praveen, while playing for ONGC, abused Income Tax batsman Ajit Argal after bowling a short-pitched delivery.
When the batsman inquired from the umpires about the legality of the delivery, Praveen got infuriated and showered abuses prompting the umpires to bring the incident to the notice of Match Referee Dhananjay Singh.
Praveen has been out of the national team since March 2012 due to a chest injury.
