Mangalore: Alert AI Express crew saves passenger's life

Mangalore, Feb 6: Air India Express flight IX586 from Sharjah to Trivandrum made an emergency landing at Mangalore International Airport after one of its passengers suddenly fell ill.
Sources at the airport said that P A Sabu from Trivandrum started vomiting blood during the flight.
The captain of the flight and the crew swung into action and immediately asked for medical assistance at Mangalore airport.
The pilot made an emergency landing at Mangalore airport at 3.30 pm. As the crew had already alerted the airport officials, ambulance and doctors were ready when the aircraft landed.
The passenger was rushed to Yenepoya hospital in the city, where he is said to be recovering.
Air India Express Mangalore manager Melwin D'Silva rushed to the airport and handled the situation, making all necessary arrangments and informing Sabu's family in Trivandrum.
The flight that was supposed to reach Trivandrum at 4.30 pm took off from Mangalore at 5.30 pm.
