Mumbai: Melwyn Peris Nite grand finale regales fans at Mira Road

Mumbai, Feb 4: The fifth and final show of Mumbai Melwyn Peris Nite held on Sunday February 3 evening at St Joseph's Church ground, Mira Road (which is also known as 'Mini Mangalore') was a thumping success attracting a crowd of over a thousand.
The show was organised during the first anniversary of the infant organisation REACH (Ready to Accept Challenges of Humanity).
The show began with the welcome address by joint secretary Michael Fernandes. All the artistes arrived at the dais with the processesion led by a brass band. The anchors Clement Lobo and Melita Sequeira kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout the evening.
Melwyn Peris and his entire troupe entered the with a song 'Dabazo'; which was followed by the love song "Sang Kenna Yetai" by young singer Robin Sequeira. Zena Pereira presented "Kallzachi Shir Tuttlea" a songwith a feeling of heart bursting. Dadd Badd Nach (Anita D'Souza and Melwyn Peris), Rape (Melwyn Peris and group), Lhanponna (Nester Peris), Chondrem Udela Mollbar (Zeena Pereira and Robin Sequiera), Sobhit Choli (Melwyn Peris, Jerry Rasquinha and Joseph Pinto), MaimBab (Doreen Pinto), Busy Busy (Melwyn Peris), Dolle (Anita D'Souza, Melwyn Peris and Robin Sequeira), Hai Katta Katta (Doreen Pinto,Charles D'Cunha), Din Tana na (Zeena Pereira, Robin Sequeira), Oh My Love (Nester Peris), Shiriyani Kombi (Anita D'Souza, Melwyn Peris),Bari Borim Cheddvam (Robin Sequeira), Ho Soro Koincho (Melwyn Peris, Anita D'Souza) and the entire troupe ended the show with the group song 'Konknni Kalakaram'.
Jerald Rasquinha and Joseph Pinto (JeZu) arrived on the stage with their innovative jokes and hilarious skits and kept the crowd in a jovial mood.
'Awesome Chaotix' dance group lead by Aelrid Crasta and his dancers Aston Fernandes, Gladson D'Souza, Jeshma Cordeiro, Melisha Cordeiro, Shailene Aranha, Savita Aranha and Josuita D'Souza presented an exciting dance performance.
Live music was performed with the leadership of music director, Roshan D'Souza (lead guitar), Steven Frank (keyboard), Tio Alvares (trumpet), Melwyn Fernandes (drums) and Jerome Coelho (bass guitar).
During the stage programme Fr Michael Moris Shenoy was the chief guest and Jacintha Lobo, Lawrence Castelino, Harry boy and Molly Lobo were guest of honour. Austin J Menezes president of "REACH" group honoured Melwyn Peris; vice president Helen D'Souza honoured the music director Roshn D'Souza; vice president corporator Merlyn D'Sa honoured Fr Michael Moris Shenoy.
Secretary Joanita Coutto honoured Jacintha Lobo; treasurer Francis D'Souza honoured Molly Lobo; legal advisor advocate Veena Arora honoured Lawrence Castelino, Konkani Purvozanchem Daiz Gurkar Meena D'Souza honoured Harryboy; Stephen Martis honoured Clement Lobo.
Other committee members Ronald D'Souza,Paul Quadros, Patrick Alvares, John Britto, Juliet Lewis, Stephen Martis and Felix Sequeira were also present at the occasion.
A new ambulance was donated in memory of the Late Victor Francis Martis was declared open for service of people.
The Melwyn Peris show was brought to Mumbai by the new organisation "Konknni Kalamanch". Clement Lobo (president), Ancy D'Souza Paladka (secretary), Harry Sequeira (treasurer) and Charles D'Cunha (co-ordinator) of Konkanni Kala Manch were also present.
The first show was held at Vasai by Vasai Konkani Welfare Association on January 25, followed by Kalina (January 26), Thane (January 27 morning), Pallotti, and Marol (January 27 evening).
Large number of music enthusiasts witnessed all the five shows.
