Rio de Janeiro, Feb 2 (IANS): Fluminense midfielder Jean has been included in the Brazilian squad for Wednesday's football friendly against England after Italian club Lazio's Hernanes withdrew due to injury.
Hernanes was taken to hospital suffering concussion after a collision with Luca Marrone during Lazio's 2-1 victory over Juventus in their Coppa Italia match Tuesday, reports Xinhua.
He was dropped from Luiz Felipe Scolari's Brazil squad Friday and replaced by the 26-year-old Jean for the match at London's Wembley Stadium, Brazil's football confederation (CBF) confirmed in a statement.
Jean represented Brazil during last November's Superclassic of the Americas match against Argentina in Buenos Aires but is yet to make his debut in an official FIFA fixture.
Brazil-based players will depart for London Sunday evening. The squad has just one scheduled training session Tuesday before Wednesday's match.
