Mangalore: 'Innovision' national-level PG fest inaugurated at Besant College

Mangalore, Jan 30: Two-day national level PG fest ‘Innovision 2013’ by department of PG studies in commerce of Besant Women’s College was inaugurated at college auditorium on Tuesday January 30.
Mohammed Abdul Rasheed, deputy general manager, zonal office, Corporation Bank was the chief guest while Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, president of women’s national education society presided over the programme.
B Mohan Nayak, correspondent, Dr Manjula KT, principal, Dr Carmelita Goveas, staff coordinators, students coordinators Archana and Koti shared the dais.
The event was inaugurated by Mohammed Abdul Rasheed along with other dignitaries by lighting the lamp.
In his inaugural address, Rasheed recalling his younger days said, "I see enthusiasm in you to take the society forward. Every individual has his or her own talent and ability. Students should realize their potential and have passion in what they do."
He termed the two-day event as a talent hunt and asked students to utilize the opportunity to display their capabilities.
"No matter if you cannot stand in a race but always contest. With experience you will be a winner one day," he added, lauding the institution for producing talents over the years.
On the occasion, dignitaries also unveiled the trophies of the event.
Dr Manjula KT welcomed the gathering, Nigel David compered while Jyothsna Lucia D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks.
Innovision 2013 Highlights
The sub-title of the fest is ‘Hanakotoba’, which means the language of flowers in Japanese, with inspiration from the fact that Japan, as a country, rose like the phoenix from all the calamities by maintaining its national spirit and emerging as a strong economy.
Events like Ajisai (ice-breaker), Bijozakura (human resource), Oniyuri (finance), Asagao (marketing) and Sagiso (best manager) will be organized during the fest where students of more than 15 colleges are participating.
