On PM candidate: No dearth of leadership in BJP, says Naidu

Panaji, Jan 30 (PTI): Senior party leader Venkaiah Naidu today said that there is no dearth of leadership in BJP, if it was to project its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

"There is no dearth of leadership in BJP. Advaniji (L K Advani), Sushmaji (Sushma Swaraj), myself... all have set of records," Naidu told reporters here.

"The party will discuss the issue of the PM candidate at an appropriate time," he said, responding to a query seeking his reaction on Yashwant Sinha's support for Narendra Modi.

"Modi is voted to work as a Chief Minister of Gujarat. He is a national leader. He has all qualities of national leader but the question is that the party is yet to have discussion on the PM candidate," Naidu said.

The party after discussing the PM candidate, will have further deliberations with its allies before announcing the name, he said.

Responding to yet another question, Naidu ruled out any impact of dissidence within the BJP in Karnataka on the prospects of the party in that state.

"There is some affect on the party due to the statements and counter statements by the leaders but people will vote back BJP to power there," he said referring to the developments in Karnataka.

    Dinesh, If your Kangress so decides then Shettar government will not last for 6 hours. Don't worry there will be a grand entry of the Kangress by end May this year. So once again get ready to pack your bags and go into hibernation the same as at the national level. Modi has grand plans to be PM, well he too will be like another Advani, and he too can wait forever. And yes as your justification is resignation from the congress and then contesting again, then please know that these 13 guys have also resigned from your corrupt party this time.

    Dinesh Poojari..Yes I understand your frustration may be you are underestimated BJP's import of Menaka Gandhi and his Son X Gandhi(i forget his name)BJP tried to market Gandhi family asking Menaka's son to vomit venom against minority but that backfired!!!If Gandhi name brings automatic projection for PM with out ability /capacity then who hold BJP to project Menaka Gandhi's son for the CM post? What is your Calibrated opinion?

    People joined BJP voluntarily. They quit congress and got reelected again thru BJP. Your power hungry congress hijacked MLAs to Goa, Shirdi etc to collapse BJP Govt. Imagine if BJP had only 110 MLAs, your dirty congress definitely would have collapsed Govt..!

    Now your madam has understood congress can not collapse govt and that is why now she is trying thru KANGRESS JANATA PARTY (KJP) using CBI key.!

    And your central govt is surviving today only because of man handling CBI. SP/BSP/DMK is supporting your UPA govt only because of CBI scare. CBI enquiry started against JAGAN REDDY soon after he quit your party.!

    If your party has any guts and capabilities come in main door and fight. Your action shows you are cowards.

Therefore don't cry and blame others for what is happening within your party. That is the end result of your own actions which can be called AFTER INFECTION or retribution for the past misdeeds. You guys wanted power at any cost and now that same power has come back to haunt you. Each day of this government's existence is entertainment and drama to the people of Karnataka.     BJP is a democratic party unlike congress which is a family run party. Even if donkey is born in GANDHI family, it will be projected as PM. Ex: Rahul Gandhi.

    All eligible candidates will be in FRAY for PM post in BJP. There is a COMPETITION, but no INFIGHTING.

    Infighting is there with Karnataka congress.

    Narendra Modi has been very successful in exploiting anti Muslim hatred into a powerful political weapon to win elections. For with a Muslim population of just under 10%, it is easy to inflame the remaining 90 % on communal ground. This is the base of his political success. No doubt he is a “Genocidal maniac” as as told by Shaik. Look at the horrors of 2002.Thousands of Muslims killed mercilessly in the state where Mahatma Gandhi is born. You like to quote the example of Assam, UP, Maharashtra but there is a vast difference between the two cases.

    If you call Modi as Genocidal maniac or Shide gives a statement that BJP and RSS were running a terrorist camp, will not make any difference and you people can’t stop Modi’s rise. Last year in Assam under Congress rule in Center and state a major riot happened and lots of innocent people killed, nobody bothered. In UP under Akhilesh in 2012 six major riots happened and 35 people killed and nobody bothered. In Maharashtra 2012 more than 112 riots happened, nobody bothered. For Gujarat riots 22 Congress workers got convicted but you and your congress clones still try to project Mr. Modi as a killer but until now did not come up with any evidence, so sad.

    If there is no dearth of prime ministerial candidate in Bjp, then why many names pop up within party? There is deep infighting and jealousy within BJP and hard to reach a consensus.

    Though, I am not a BJP supporter, I think Sushma Swaraj is the best bet, because her thoughts, ideologies etc. are more similar to Mr. Vajpayeeji and late Promod Mahajanji. India needs a secular minded leader who would always protect the secular fabrics of the country. Co-existence is paramount for the country's progress.

    I agree with Mr. Naidu. There indeed is no dearth for leadership in BJP. Starting from LKA who came to the brim of becoming PM but lost to UPA II. He continue to cherish his dreams to be a PM. Then there is Yashwant Sinha, Jethmalani, Rajnath Singh, Gadkari, Jaitly, Susuma, Sadhvi Uma Bharati, yourself and above all, the envy of the allies (JD and Shiv Sena) Sri Modi. My list is cut down to the minimum because more names will crop up once you constitute your JV parties after the elections to run the nation. It will an in-fight for the post like it happened in Karnataka with Yeddy blackmailing the party.

    With BJP  all set to win 2014 elections, voters too are all set to witness the farce. This time at the national level as preliminary round has been played on state level in Karnataka.
