Update
Kasargod, Jan 29: The police now suspect that the tragic deaths of four of a family, found in a car near Mayipady here on Tuesday January 29, may have been a case of murder followed by suicide.
Soni Kutti, his wife Theresiamma and children Jerin and Jewel were found dead under mysterious cicrumstances inside an Alto car.
The police suspect that Soni might have murdered his wife and children in their house at Kudlu on Monday January 28 night and then taken the bodies by car to Mayipady, before himself committing suicide.
Based on circumstancial evidence, it is surmised that after reaching Mayipady, Soni locked the doors and windows of the car and cut the gas pipe such that vapour filled the car. His body was found on the seat with the seatbelt firmly securing him. Also, the seats were found partially charred, and the window panes had turned yellow due to the vapours.
Also, police have found a death note at the family's residence, in which Soni stated that he was going through acute financial problems and was therefore taking this extreme step.
