Bahrain: Young talents win hearts at Konkani Kutam annual competitions

Bahrain, Jan 27: The Annual Konkani Singing and Dance Competitions of Konkani Kutam, Bahrain were held on recently at Karnataka Social Club premises. In its endeavour to promote Konkani language among children in Bahrain, Konkani Kutam has been organizing the competitions for the last 12 years.
As many as 45 children in the age group of 4 to 18 years participated in the competitions which started at 11:30 am. The competition comprised three categories of 4 to 8 years, 8 to 12 years and 12 to 18 years.

Consolation prizes were given to all participants. The judges for singing competition were Richard Pais, Swibert Maschrenahs and Soniya Prabhu, and judges for dance competition were Raghu Ram, Priya Maschrenhas and Nishel Fernandes.
Two comedy skits were presented by Stany D’souza, Sujay Pinto, George Menezes and Maxim D’souza. Lunch was served by Udupi Palace Restaurant to everyone present.
Walter Dantis compered the programme and Ronald Fernandes delivered vote of thanks.
