Japan's consumer prices fall


Tokyo, Jan 25 (IANS): Japan's consumer prices dropped 0.2 percent in December from a year earlier, government data showed Friday.

The core consumer price index, excluding fresh foods, stood at 99.4 against the 2010 base of 100, said the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in a preliminary report.

For 2012, the CPI fell 0.1 percent from the previous year, reported Xinhua.
