Kundapur: Adiga Murder accused Ramesh Bayari sent to judicial custody till Feb 7

Kundapur, Jan 25: Ramesh Bayari, the prime accused in the murder case of Vasudeva Adiga, was on Friday January 25 produced before the magistrate.
As it is a government holiday on account of Eid Milad, Bayari was produced in the magistrate Anupama Laxmi's house at 7 am.
He has been remanded in judicial custody till February 7 and will be lodged in Hiriadka jail.
As per information received earlier, Bayari was expected to be produced in court late afternoon on Thursday January 24. The same night, he was taken for medical examination to Kundapur government hospital. During interrogation in police station, Bayari reportedly confessed the crime and also admitted having given supari to four others accused in the case.
The defence counsel consists of three lawyers. While accused Umesh, Raghavendra, Mohan Kumar and Naveen are being represented by criminal lawyer Ravikiran Murdeshwar, Pradeep Kumar and Somnath Hegde will represent the other accused Subramanya Udupa and Ravichandra. It is not yet certain as to who will be representing Ramesh Bayari.
The other six accused were produced in court on January 24, and like Bayari, were remanded in judicial custody till February 7. They too will be lodged in Hiriadka jail.
RTI activist Vasudeva Adiga was kidnapped near Goliangadi on January 7 and his body was found in a pond at Kadur in Chikmagalur on January 12.
