Moodbidri, Jan 21: SSVP Sabha Pradeshik Samithi Moodbidri and ICYM Moodbidri varado jointly organized the Konkani drama ‘Utre Uzwadle’ played by the kalakar of ‘Sangon Mugdana’ group Moodbidri, written by Pradeep Barboza Paladka, directed by Andrew D’Souza Paladka.
 
The drama was staged for the Needy Youth Educational Fund.

Fr Austin Peris, parish priest Moodbidri varado and director SSVP Sabha Moodbidri varado, Fr Assissi Rebello, director ICYM Moodbidri varado, Leo Walter Nazreth, president SSVP Sabha Moodbidri varado, Stephen Mendes, Denis D’Silva and Melwyn Lobo, ICYM varado president Moodbidri were present on the dais for the inaugural function.

The programme began with lighting of 13 lamps which represented the 13 parishes of Moodbidri varado.

Melwyn Lobo addressed the gathering. Fr Assissi Rebello gave the introductory speech.

Several members were honoured on the occasion: Edward Rebello, Taccode for his contribution to the field of agriculture; Felix Dsouza for rendering services for the society's well being; Amar Sunil Lobo for being successful in the field of sports; Pradeep Barboza Paladka for his contribution to the field of arts.

Fr Austin Peris gave presidential speech and Leo Walter Nazreth thanked the gathering.
 
The drama which was held at the Church ground of Alangar was a huge success with a crowd of more than 2000 people from different parishes.
