Beltangady, Jan 20: Condemning the recent killing and beheading of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops at the border, state convener of Bajrang Dal Suryanarayana has said that India should go to war with Pakistan.
Addressing a press meet here on Sunday January 20, Suryanarayana said, "We should wage a war against them (Pakistan) instead of keeping quiet and doing nothing. As many 120 crore Indians are supporting the soldiers."
Commenting on the central government's plans to set up universities in Tipu Sultan’s name with 50 percent reservation for Muslims and other minorities, he said there was no need for setting up a university for the sake of minorities. "People supporting Tipu Sultan must read history first to know about his fanatic and fascist reign," he said.
"Some of the universities in Kerala and Hyderabad are spreading baseless rumors about Hinduism, let this not prevail in Karnataka. Bajrang Dal strongly condemns this move," he added.
"Andhra Pradesh MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi should not be released. If that happens, we will put pressure on the government to chase him out from the country," he said.
Suryanarayan further said that a national convention will be held from February 7 to February 9 to mark the 50 years of VHP's existence.
Sharan Pumpwell, convener of Bajrang Dal, Mangalore unit, Dinesh Kumar Jain, Puttur covener, Shashiraj Shetty, Beltangady secretary, Thimmappa Gowda Belalu, Srinivas Kulal among others were present.
