Melbourne, Jan 18 (IANS): Fourth-seeded Angieszka Radwanska won her 12th match in a row and reached the fourth round of the women's singles at the Australian Open here Friday with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Britain's Heather Waston.
Radwanska received treatment for what appeared to be a blister on the small finger of her right hand in the second set but she managed to overcome the injury to seal an easy win, reports Xinhua.
She will take on 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic of Serbia in the next round. Ivanovic beat Jelena Jankovic 7-5, 6-3 in a matchup featuring two Serbians who were both formerly ranked No.1.
"I'm extremely happy to be playing my best tennis from the beginning of the year," said Radwanska. "Hopefully I'll play on the same level the rest of the tournament."
Before coming to Melbourne Park, Radwanska won tournaments in Auckland and Sydney, which were nine matches in a row. Her 6-0, 6-0 win over Dominika Cibulkova in the Sydney International final was the first double-bagel in a WTA final since November 2006.
