Ranchi, Jan 18 (IANS): Basu Dev, curator of the newly built JSCA International Stadium, expects the team batting first to score approximately 350 runs. India will take on England in the third One-Day International (ODI) here Saturday on what he calls a sporty wicket.
"I have prepared a sporty wicket which will have a true bounce. The bounce will not be too low or too high. It is a bit green too and will dry as the match progresses. I expect the team batting first to score around 350 runs," said Basu Dev, who is a Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) employee.
Daljit Singh, chairman of the ground and pitches committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), along with zonal curator Ashish Kumar Bhowmik, were also here to oversee the preparation of the pitch.
"Daljit Singh saw the pitch and told me it is a very good one. One of the best he has seen in recent times," added Basu Dev, who is a long-standing groundsmen of the JSCA at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur which hosts Jharkhand's home Ranji Trophy matches.
