Mangalore: Foundation Laid for Divine Mercy Church at Fatima Retreat House

Mangalore, Jan 16: The foundation stone for Divine Mercy Church was laid at the premises of Fatima Retreat House here on Wednesday January 16.
The site of the church was blessed by Fr Eugene Lobo, director of Fatima Retreat House, while the foundation stone was laid by Fr Ravi Santosh Kamath.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Eugene said that the Church will epitomise the divine mercy of god, where devotees can find solace, stregthen their faith and be thankful to god for all the blessings showered upon them.
He also thanked James M S Britto and family for donating the land to being the new church.
The church will be built at a cost of Rs 3.4 crore and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2014.
The foundation stone was already blessed by Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza in April 2012.
Fr Francis Almeida, Fr Valerian D'Souza, parish priest of Milagres Church, Roy Castelino and others were present.
