Three from Kundapur Killed in Accident at Murdeshwar

Bhatkal, Jan 13: Three persons from Kundapur were killed on the spot when the car they were travelling in rammed into a tree.
The accident occured at around 2 pm on Sunday January 13 at Bengare in Murdeshwar.
The deceased have been identified as Keerthi Shetty (42) who was driving the car, Santosh Shetty (45) and Santosh's wife Shakeela (35). They were residents of Gulwadi in Kundapur.
It is said that the car was travelling at a high speed and rammed into the tree while trying to overtake another vehicle. The impact of the accident was such that the car ricocheted off the tree and the three were killed on the spot.
The three were travelling from Bijapur to Kundapur.
Chandra Shetty, younger brother of Santosh, said that the family runs hotel business in Bijapur.
As soon as the news of the accident spread, people gathered in large numbers. Bhatkal ASP Sudheer Kumar Reddy, CPI Belliyappa along with PSI Prakash and PSI Manjappa rushed to the spot.
The bodies were shifted to Bhatkal government hospital for post-mortem.
Murdeshwar police have registered a case.
