New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS): The Indian Army has not received any response from its Pakistani counterpart for a brigadier-level flag meeting to resolve the escalation of tension following the killing and mutilation of two Indian soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC) Jan 8, officials said Saturday.
"We are still waiting (for a response)," an army official told IANS.
He said there had not been exchange of fire Saturday.
India had earlier given a "controlled response" to "unprovoked" firing by Pakistani troops along the LoC in Mendhar sector along the Jammu and Kashmir border with Pakistan.
The official said that bodies of both soldiers killed had been mutilated and one was beheaded.
He said throats of both the soldiers had been slit.
The soldiers had been identified as Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh and Lance Naik Hemraj of the Rajputana Rifles.
