Mangalore: Fake Certificate Racket Busted - Two Nabbed

Mangalore, Jan 7: Two persons have been arrested for preparing and selling fake marks cards and admission letters in the name of Mangalore University.
The arrsested are Nawaz Ahmed and his aide Ravindranath Nayak.
Acting on a tip off, Pandeshwar police led by inpector Diwakar on Sunday January 7 waylaid Nawaz who was riding his scooter near Subhashnagar junction.
At the time of his arrest, fake certificates of 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th semesters of a student, identified as Jayaprakash B S, a B E Mechanical Engineering student of Mangalore University, was found on Nawaz.
On interrogation, the accused admitted that he had been running a fake certificate racket along with his aide Ravindranath Nayak. The duo were engaged in preparing fake marks cards and admission letters and selling them to students for a price.
Nawaz and Ravindranath were then arrested by the police. Nawaz's vehicle along with several fake documents, computers and other equipment were seized.
The have been booked under sections 417, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 472 of IPC.
