Damascus, Jan 4 (IANS): At least nine people, including children, were killed and 40 injured in a car bomb blast at a gas station in the Syrian capital city of Damascus late Thursday, Xinhua reported.
The incident, which took place near a military hospital, caused huge blaze. All those killed were civilians who standing in queues to fill their buckets and plastic containers with heating diesel, a media report said.
The TV footage showed scores of scattered plastic containers floating on pools of diesel and blood amid strewn rubble.
The firefighters managed to douse the flames later.
