Kolar: Kannada Rajyotsava Celebrations Draw to a Grand End

Kolar, Jan 3: The valedictory ceremony of the 43rd three-day Kannada Rajyotsava organized by Shree Bhuvaneshwari Kala Sangha of Maloor in Kolar district was held at Masti Venkatesh Aiyangar Rang Mandir recently.
Secretary to the home ministry K Amar Narayan, retired IAS officer Perumal, K V R Tagore were the chief guests and internationally renowned musician Shyamala Bhave, MLA Krishnaiah Shetty, former ZP member G Ramegowda, comedian Sihi Kahi Chandru, actor Anand, scholar Kavithakrishna, litterateur Kavitha Krishna among others were present as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, K V R Tagore said that it is praiseworthy that Kannada is revered by people speaking the language across the world. "However, the language is being neglected in its own birthplace of Karnataka," he lamented and stressed on the need for observing Kannada Rajyotsava as a routine practice in order to retain the richness of the language.
Sarvotham Shetty of Kannada Sangha Abu Dhabi, Rajkumar, president of Kannada Sangha Bahrain, Surenu Jayaram, president of Kannada Sangha London, J S Vijayakumar president of Kannada Sangha Singapore, Dr Linganna Kalburgi president of Kannada Sangha, New Zealand, Jamuna Murali president of Kannada Balaga America, Prof Vijay Kumar of Ethiopia Kannada Balaga, who were the special invitees on the occasion were honored with award ‘Abhimani Vishwa Kannadigaru’ award.
Radhakrishna Shetty of Karunada Sangha Surat, K P Manjunath Sagar, founder president of Vishwa Kannada Samskrithi and journalist Rons Bantwal of Daijiworld were honored with ‘Best Kannadiga’ award.
Bhuvaneshwari Sangha president Dr N Rama Reddy welcomed. Working president H V Lingeshwaraiah and honorary president M N Badarinath spoke on the occasion. Aparna and G N Swami compeered the programme. P Ramachandra A Gopal delivered the vote of thanks.
As part of the cultural programme, group dance by schoolchildren, magic show by magician M D Kaushik, comedy show by Sai Prakash and musical programmes were organized.
