Team will Bounce Back: Sachin

Mussourie, Jan 2 (IANS): Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, currently holidaying here, extended his best wishes to the Indian team Wednesday, saying it would bounce back from its slump soon.

Talking to reporters, Tendulkar, who announced his retirement last month from One-Day Internationals (ODIs), said he was "very happy" about spending quality time with his family.

He said he was busy playing cricket with tennis balls, trying his hand at table tennis and badminton with his children.

"In-between, I have been watching cricket on TV and though I'm not a part of the ODI team any longer, my heart is still with them and am sure the team would bounce back to its rightful place," he said.

Asked to comment on his time as a member of the one-day squad, Tendulkar said the journey was memorable and he was happy to have contributed to it in his own way.

"I would like to thank my colleagues in the team and my fans for having supported me all throughout, though there were my own share of ups and downs," he said.
