Mexico City, Dec 26 (IANS/EFE): Mexico's Atlas soccer team plans to take legal action against the fans who unfurled two banners bearing threatening messages at club offices last week, team executives said.
One of the banners left at the team's offices last Friday bore a death threat.
Atlas is one of the main candidates for relegation to a lower division in May.
The other banner threatened Omar Bravo, a forward recently acquired by the team who starred for many years for Guadalajara, Atlas's main rival.
Atlas and Queretaro are the leading candidates for relegation in the spring after taking last place in the past five championships.
Atlas was whipped by Morelia 4-0 Sunday and coaches gave the players the day off on Christmas, with practice scheduled to resume Wednesday.
