Bantwal: Fate Catches up Finally - Accused in Theft Arrested After 23 Years!

Bantwal, Dec 24: They say if you have committed a crime, you cannot escape the law for long, or for that matter, your fate. A man who had probably thought he would never be caught fell into the hands of the police, 23 years after he reportedly committed the theft!
The man who was allegedly part of a theft operation at Vittal station limits 23 years ago was arrested near Uppala on Sunday December 23.
The arrested is identified as Ismail (45) from Kaikamba in Uppala.
As per the information received, Ismail was involved in a theft in 1989 and absconding ever since.
Madhav Kudla, Vittal inspector on authentic information arrested him with the help from other police officials like Ramachandra, Praveen, Sheenappa Gowda.
Sources said that he was produced in the court on Sunday December 23.
It may be mentioned here that on October 30 this year, an accused in a theft at Karkala was caught 21 years after the theft took place.
