Churches across the city are specially adorned, beckoning the faithful to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Saviour.
Christians thronged the churches in great numbers to attend the special Mass that was held at 7.30 pm. The message of Jesus Christ reverberated across the churches.
Mangalore Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza celebrated the Mass at Church of Our Lady of Rosary (Rosario Cathedral) at 8 pm. In his sermon, the Bishop called upon the devotees to trust in God and that God is present everywhere. He further said that Christmas should be celebrated from the heart and not confined to just outward symbols, and invoked god's blessings on everyone present.
Carol singing, colourful cribs, lights, stars and Christmas trees added more charm to the festive occasion.
