Kejriwal, Supporters Detained Outside Dikshit's Residence

New Delhi, Dec 7 (IANS): Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal and 200 party supporters were Friday detained by Delhi Police for protesting outside Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit's residence, police said.

The party supporters reached the house at around 8 a.m. to protest against a demolition drive in Shaheen Bagh in south Delhi. They were detained around 12.30 p.m.

"We have detained Kejriwal and his supporters outside the CM's house and have taken them to the police station," a senior police officer said.

A Delhi government official said the demolition drive was done on the orders of the Delhi High Court to remove illegal structures erected on Delhi Development Authority land.
