Mangalore: Six Injured as Speeding Jeep Rams into Bus

Mangalore, Dec 6: Six persons including children were injured in a jeep-bus collision at Kallapu near here on Thursday December 6 morning.
The accident occured between a jeep moving towards Kerala from Mangalore and a bus plying towards the city from Kumpala.
It is said that the jeep was at a high speed, and collided with the bus. The bus driver is said to have slowed down as the jeep approached, which probably lessened the impact of the accident, said eyewitnesses.
The injured have been identified as Nasir (26), Abdul Kunhi, Anfala (11) Ashraf (12), Naufara (12), all from Vidyanagar in Kasargod, and jeep driver Abubakkar (68), who is said to be critical.
The accident occured when the family was returning to Kasargod after dropping a relative at Bajpe Airport.
They have been admitted to a hospital in the city outskirts.
The accident resulted in a traffic snarl that lasted for more than an hour. Ullal police arrived at the spot and restored normalcy.
Ullal police have registered a case.
