Mangalore, Dec 5: A star in the making, Shweta Pandit who hails from Karkala is all set for her upcoming Tamil movie ‘Veru’.
Three films old, Shweta has already proved her talent in 'Paramatma', a Kannada romantic-comedy directed by Yograj, starring Puneeth Rajkumar and Deepa Sannidhi in the lead. The story of 'Paramatma' revolves around a multi-faced young boy, who accidently falls for a girl and find his love in her. The movie runs on a flashback mode.
Shweta has also played the lead role in the Telugu movie ‘Theatre Lo’ which is a horror film with suspense as the main crux. The story revolves around the happenings at a movie theatre over two hours.
"'Theatre Lo' is a good movie, where I am playing the lead role with four other male leads," said Shweta speaking exclusively to Daijiworld. Four actors - Srikanth, Dheeraj, Shankar and Varun - are cast opposite Shweta.
Shwetha also has in her kitty the Kannada Kannada movie 'Case No 18/9', a remake of Tamil film ‘Vazhakku Enn 18/9’ which is based on a teenage scandal. Shweta and Sindu Lokanath are the heroines while Niranjan Shetty is the hero.
Since childhood, Shweta Pandit has had immense attachment towards Mangalore. She was brought up by her grandfather (a priest at Venkataramana Temple) and grandmother in Karkala. For the past 3 years, she has settled in Bangalore and from a year and a half she has taken up modeling assignments.
When Daijiworld asked her about some of her happiest moment in Kannada industry, she said that it was the time she spent with Appu (Puneeth Rajkumar) during a film shoot. "Appu is a fun loving and a down to earth person", she said.
Speaking about her film career, she says, "Instead of taking everything coming my way, I am trying to be selective and work with a good script and director. As of now, I am quite satisfied doing this."
"Having done a role in ‘Paramatma’, I am happy to secure a place amidst Sandalwood actors," she added.
Commenting on the importance of social media, Shweta said that she is closely connected to social networking sites through which she got to know many people, and which helped her in getting ahead in her film career.
"I have no particular targets as such, but I will definately continue to pursue my dreams," she said, when asked about her future plans.
We surely hope this young talent has all her dreams coming true.
