Abuja, Nov 26 (IANS): As many as 11 people died and 30 injured in Nigeria Sunday after suicide bombers attacked a church in military barracks with two blasts in Kaduna state, media reports said.
According to the Nigerian army, the explosions hit the St. Andrew Military Protestant Church in Jaji facility in central north Kaduna state of the country, Xinhua reported.
The first explosion occurred at about 12 p.m. while the second went off 10 minutes later, said an army spokesperson.
The attacks were carried out by suicide bombers who targetted a church inside military barracks, BBC reported.
It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the attack. The army, however, suspected Islamist militant group Boko Haram, which recently targeted churches in the state.
The group is fighting to overthrow the government and impose an extreme form of Sharia, or Islamic law.
