Beijing, Nov 22 (IANS): The KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has adopted a female giant panda in China as part of efforts to promote awareness about their conservation.
Cheng Cheng is currently lodged in the overseas-born panda paradise in Sichuan province, the China Daily reported Thursday.
The adoption ceremony was organised Tuesday in the Bifengxia base of China conservation and research centre in Ya'an.
Her mate in the centre, seven-year-old Tai Shan, was born at Washington national zoo.
