New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS): The winter session of parliament started on a disruptive note Thursday with both houses being adjourned shortly after proceedings began.
Both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 12 noon as the opposition, which is going to press for a vote on the issue of foreign investment in retail, stalled proceedings.
In the Lok Sabha, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) members rushed towards Speaker Meira Kumar's podium protesting the law and order in Uttar Pradesh. The Samajwadi Party in turn demanded the rollback of the LPG price hike.
