London, Nov 20, 2012 (PTI): Pakistani girl Malala Yousufzai, who became the face of her country's struggle against the Taliban, has been awarded for her bravery and advocation of education for girls in adverse conditions in Swat.

The award was given out by World Peace and Prosperity Foundation Chairman Prince Ali Khan, at the Cholmondeley Room of the House of Lords last night.

Malala is being treated at a British hospital after she was shot in the head by Taliban militants.

The award was received on her behalf by Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to the UK, S Zulfiqar Gardezi.

"It is Malala or her family who should have received the award. In their absence, I will pass it on to her," he said.

Malala was flown to the UK on Oct 15 and admitted at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham where she is recovering.

Other recipients of award included a Bishop of London, a distinguished British Muslim Psychiatrist, a distinguished Turkish academic and MP, and eight year old Josh Altman, European Chess Bronze medalist.

Prince Ali Khan, Founder Chairman of the World Peace and Prosperity Foundation said the Foundation was aimed at recognising outstanding work in various walks of life and to promote world peace and prosperity.

Why the innocent Children were/are made human sheilds by the Hizbullah and Hamas in Lebanon and in Palestine?!

Were those children born cheaply for them in a polygamy system.

    Just now Hot news:
Islamabad: A Pakistan court on Tuesday threw out all charges against a Christian girl accused of blasphemy for allegedly burning pages of the Koran in a case that drew international condemnation. Rimsha Masih, who could have faced life in prison if convicted of the charges, spent three weeks on remand in jail after being arrested on 16 August. She was released on bail in September but she and her family have been in hiding under government protection, fearful for their lives.

Christian girl was wantenly charged of burning the Koran. Actually the Koran was half burnt by an Islamic cleric and hid half in Rimsha Masih's bag and charged with Blasphemy case.

Today the Pakistani court threw all charges against her. Truth always triumphs. Lies always drains.
Praise be to God and His name be Glorified.

If Malala was doing such great work, why not her name appeared in news earlier? Even no news heads stated single brave work she carried during so called her struggle for girls education. Their are many innocents girls are dying for no reason, why not they given such media coverage?
Is west will give such a huge importance for a girl from Pakistan struggling for the cause of just girls education in Pakistan?
When there lot of innocent lives are brutally murdered in Palestine, West is tight lipped - why, these lives have no value or they are not brave as much as Malala?

I really dont need to address yop by Mr.because of your immature talks. As always you proved it that a person with half knowledge does not talk any sense. he just talks as he wants to talk. A person with no knowledge of such incidents will talk more intelligently.
You are talking like you are in the heat of things staying in pakistan.

Can anybody tell me Why Malala Yousufzai is campaigning for girl’s education?
Did anybody deny education to the girls in Pakistan?
Did anybody destroy girls schools in Pakistan?
Did anybody oppressed girl’s and women in Pakistan.

If not why she is campaigning for girl’s right to education.
    Why she deserves bravery award???
Why Pakistan has not bravery award Osama Bin Laden, Zawahiri nor issued/d fatwa against them.
Why these girls have to roam like an extremists covering all their head and face.

Why in Pakistan forced conversion going on and blasphemy cases are filed against them
Did anybody raped Egyptian Coptic Christian girls and forced them to become Islam.
Now, somebody will immediately quote from the book saying there is no compulsion in religion.
Now somebody will immediately write a comment saying if not burqa they wear bikini???
Because those people have only two options burqa or bikini. No other moderate dress.

The other countries too should recognise this young but mature thinking girl's courage and dedicate honours and awards on her name, so that the girl children all over the world will get equal opportunities to come up in life.
The girl children are the last hope for the parents when the parents grow older and their dedication is above self. Please educate the girl child and make them self sufficient to face the world before they get married.
