Udupi/Bantwal, Nov 18: It was indeed a visual treat for all those witnessed ‘Vishwaroopa Darshan’ held as part of ‘Deepotsava’ at Laxmi Venkateshwar Temple in Thenkapete and at Venkataramana Swami temple in Bantwal on Sunday November 18 early morning.
The temples were decorated beautifully with thousands of diyas (earthern lamps) placed on walls, inner precincts and lined with unique designs in the temple.

The little lamps were arranged in myriad shapes in the premises of the temples. Apart from diyas, flowers too were used for making designs such as 'Om', lotus, conch, and characters from mythology.
Preparations were made till late on Saturday November 17 night to place thousands of lamps all around the temples. Devotees from all over camped at the locations. The lights were brought from the temples early morning, after which the devotees light the diyas one by one.
Bhajans, pujas and other rituals were also performed. Fireworks lit up the dark sky adding more charm to the occasion.
Hundreds of devotees including Bantwal MLA Ramanath Rai participated in the religious rites.
