Mangalore, Nov 16: The Hindu Jagrana Vedike on Friday November 16 condemned some of the locals of Dharmasthala for disgracing Esha Vittala Dasa Swamiji of Kemar Math who had called for CBI probe into the rape and murder of Sowjanya.
Addressing a press meet here, HJV Satyajit Suratkal said that under the banner of ‘Dharmasthala Nagarikaru’ some people had brought harm to the reputation of Kemar Swamiji.
He said Esha Vittala Dasa Swamiji had asked for CBI probe into Sowjanya’s murder case and also into 54 murder cases which have taken place in the past two years in Dharmasthala.
In this regard, people like Keshava Belal, gram panchayat president, member Srinivas Rao, Dhanakeerthi Arige under the banner of ‘Dharmasthala Nagarikaru’ insulted Swamiji publicly at Beltangady taluk office by saying that he had 'vested interests' and was doing it for publicity, he said.
"Hindu Jagarana Vedike strictly condemns it. Instead of supporting Swamiji who has been fighting for a good cause, these three people are insulting him, which is not correct," he added.
"The Hindu Jagarana Vedike hence requests the district administration and police commissioner to investigate the case seriously and hand over all the murder cases to CBI. Strict action should be taken against the three people for slandering the name of Kemar Swamiji," he added.
Ganapathi, Kishore, Amith Mindalike among others were present.
