Kundapur: Shiroor Association Launches Ambulance Service

Kundapur, Nov 15: The new ambulance service by Shiroor Association was inaugurated by Oscar Fernandes, MP and chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee for HRD.
The ambulance was donated by DINA School for Special Education and Rehabilitation, Shiroor.
Syed Ibrahim welcomed the guests. The introductory speech was rendered by Sharath Shetty.
Shiroor Association is a congregation of people of Shiroor, a small coastal town of Karnataka. It came into existence on June 22 this year. It was inaugurated at a simple programme held in Bangalore Empire Hotel in Karama, Dubai.
The very first objective of the association was to have an ambulance for people in and around Shiroor. The service is for everyone irrespective of caste or creed. The Shiroor Association has undertaken the task of executing projects like providing education for the needy people, proper drainage facility and cleanliness drives in future.
Syed Abdul Khader Bashu, patron, DINA School for Special Education and Rehabilitation, Shiroor, was felicitated by Oscar Fernandes.
In his inaugural speech, Oscar Fernandes said, "This is an important programme by the Shiroor Association. Everyone should work towards the welfare of the society. This association is an example to others in organizing an important programme. This is how one dedicates oneself for the welfare of the society."
Gopal Poojary, former MLA, Byndoor, Akhter Ahmed Khan, administrator, Tauheed Education Trust Gangolli, Babu Shetty, former chairman of standing committee, zilla panchayat, Udupi, Dilshad Begum, president of gram panchayat, Shiroor, Manjunath Poojary, vice-president of gram panchayat Shirooru, Gowri Devadiga, member of zilla panchayat, Savitri Alvegadde, member of taluk panchayat and Sreemathi Mogaveera, member of taluk panchayat were present on the dais.
