New Delhi, Nov 11 : In a sensational revelation, highly-placed sources at New Delhi have indicated that Arvind Kejriwal or his representatives had requested funds for his trust from Mukesh Ambani and his brother Anil Ambani in his fight against corruption. The clear denial to fund Kejriwal's trust had angered Kejriwal and reportedly led him to expose Mukesh Ambani last week.
If sources to be believed, representatives of Mukesh Ambani are expected to expose details before the media in the coming days.
An activist with allegiance to Anna Hazare in New Delhi, though he does not approve of the allegation, says the possibility cannot be ruled out either, as Kejriwal had mainly targeted Mukesh Ambani, and later named his brother Anil Ambani in the Swiss account expose. Kejriwal even exposed names of Jet Airways chief Naresh Goel, Birlas and other leading owners of corporate houses, but interestingly, he has not made any reference to Tatas, one of the topmost corporates in the country.
It was reported last week that Kejriwal's Public Cause Research Foundation had received donations from Tata (Rs 25 lac), Infosys' Narayan Murthy (around Rs 1.2 crore), Vallabh Bansali, Religare Enterprises CEO Shachindra Nath, Sanjiv Bikhchandani of Naukri.com, Bangalore-based Kasturi Trust, Jagan Nath Gupta Memorial Education Society and a few others.
Tata and Narayana Murthy came out in the open to confirm the donation, but clarified that it was not for his political agenda or motives, but for his RTI campaign.
If reports about Kejriwal's demand from Ambanis are found to be true, there could be a huge storm and war of words between Kejriwal, politicians and the corporates. End of the day, the media will have a field day!
