King Extends Scoring Form for Birmingham

London, Nov 11 (IANS/CMC): Less than a week after quitting international football, controversial Jamaica striker Marlon King scored his ninth goal of the season as he helped Birmingham City to a share of the points in the English Championship division.

The 32-year-old's 17th minute strike was crucial in helping the visitors to a 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park Saturday, reports CMC.

Spanish forward Ruben Rochina put Rovers ahead in the 13th minute from the penalty spot after David Murphy brought down Mauro Formica in the area.

Four minutes later, however, King gave City parity when he tucked home from close range after Nikola Zigic's initial shot rebounded off the upright.

He came close again minutes later but neither side could break the deadlock and the game finished level.

King had a volatile international career for Jamaica, serving one year of a two-year ban six years ago and a recent two-match suspension, both for curfew-related infractions.
