Vrindavan, Nov 8 (IANS): Pilgrims from Delhi will now be able to reach Vrindavan by helicopter from Nov 11, an official said Thursday.
"All necessary arrangements have been made. The service will start from Nov 11," Mathura district magistrate Samir Verma told IANS.
The state-owned Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd. has already conducted trials. Minor issues were sorted out Wednesday, he said.
"Those who can afford and are under pressure for time will find the service very useful. I see a great potential as the number of visitors to the holy town is increasing every year," Verma added.
The UP Jal Nigam has developed a helipad at a cost of Rs.15 lakh near Panigram. The helicopter service will later be extended to Agra.
