New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS): It was a yet another hazy Wednesday morning in the capital with the minimum temperature settling at 14.3 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season. The Met office has forecast a clear afternoon followed by a misty evening.
"The day will be clear but there will be shallow fog in the evening. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 28 degrees Celsius," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
According to the IMD, the smog cover over Delhi has been denser this year due to high pollution and sluggish wind motion but is expected to lift by Thursday night.
The IMD has attributed the haze to the dust brought by south-westerly air currents and high moisture content in the air due to cyclone Nilam that has hit the country's eastern coast.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 85 percent.
Wednesday's maximum and minimum temperatures were average for this time of the year at 29.3 and 14.3 degrees Celsius, respectively.
