Mangalore: MCC Officials Seal Garage for Creating Nuisance

Mangalore, Nov 6: MCC officials led by health inspectors Sreeshanth, Ramu and assistant heath officer Raghunath sealed a garage near a residential area in Shivanagara at Pandeshwar here on Tuesday November 6 for causing disturbance to the people in the vicinity.
A car garage owned by Ravindra Marnamikatte and Mohammed Wajid Hasan was said to be causing noise pollution and creating disturbance to the public. Dinakar with the help of the public filed a complaint with the health officer stating the inconvenience caused to the residents.
A notice was served by the MCC commissioner to close the garage on June 24, 2011. However, Ravindra moved court seeking justice, but his plea was squashed.
The commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation then served a notice to the garage owners as per the clause 355 and 443 of Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act 1976.
Health officers on Tuesday November 6 at around 10 am, arrived at the venue and sealed the shutters of the garage.
Earlier, the commissioner had also sent a letter to the garage owners dated October 16, 2012 warning stringent action if the garage was not closed within three days of the order letter
There were a total of 15 employees working in the garage.
