Santiago, Nov 5 (IANS/EFE): A fight at a prison has left 14 inmates injured, Chilean officials said.
Guards, firefighters and police responded to the fight and a fire set by prisoners at the prison located about 30 km from downtown Santiago.
The fight started around noon Saturday in Tower No. 4, which holds 68 prisoners, police commander Miguel Jara told Radio Cooperativa.
No one was injured seriously, Jara said.
"The proof is that none of them had to be taken to a hospital," Jara said.
Inmates set their mattresses on fire, forcing prison officials to call police, warden Alejandro Troncoso told reporters.
"The 14 (inmates) injured in the fight were treated at the hospital in the prison itself," the warden said.
