Mangalore: Towards Safer City - Hundreds Take Part in 92.7 Big FM Run

Mangalore, Nov 4: A sea of people came together in the city on Sunday November 4 to participate in the safety run held as part of a campaign jointly launched by Radio station 92.7 Big FM and Total Lubricants to mark total safety month.
The campaign is being carried out in a distinct way in four different phases:
Phase I – awareness about drunken driving;
Phase II – use of mobile phones when driving;
Phase III – reckless driving habits;
Phase IV – culmination of the campaign through the ‘Total Quartz Safety Run’.
The run was from Bharath Mall to PVS. The event saw more than 700 participants from various organizations brought together under one roof by Total Oil India Pvt Ltd and 92.7 Big FM.
Krishna Palemar flagged off the event in the presence of Uma Shankar general manager and Vinay Kumar from Total Oil India.
Students of Canara CBSE led the event with a splendid band. Students from Presidency school also took part.
Members of Lions Club led by Dr Aravind Rao Kedige, RX Life led by Gayathri Bhat and Giridhar Kamath, DK district bus owners association and auto association, Big Bazaar, Make a Difference, Western Institute of Technology, SRS Global, MRPL, MCF, members of Mangala stadium walkers' association, Rotary Inner wheel, Roshni Nilaya, St Ann’s school, St Aloysius College, and listeners of Big FM made a memorable safety run.
“Such events will boost awareness among the general public; Big FM and Total have done a fabulous job and in the coming year we expect the rural masses also to be a part of the event," said Palemar.
Vaseem, station head, Mangalore, Alston Sequeira, senior sales manager, RJ Errol and RJ Varsha of Big FM were present.
RJ Vishwas, programming head, Big FM hosted the programme. He said that in the coming days Big FM will hold awareness programmes in close association with RTO and its listeners.
