Mangalore: Rama's Quest in Enchanting Poetic Drama Enraptures Audience

Mangalore, Nov 4: An enchanting epic play ‘Ramayana’ in English was staged here at St Agnes College Auditorium, Bendur on Saturday November 3.
The play was staged in the form of poetic drama by UXCEL-Trinity Mangalore with more than 100 artistes casting a magical spell with their performances.
The play depicted the engrossing story of Rama on his quest to rescue his wife from the evil king Ravana. Like all great stories, it delivered riveting entertainment while posing essential questions about the human condition during those days.
The play was perfect family entertainer as well as informative, sumptuously staged with vivid costumes, fantastical sets, music, lights, dance and others.
Main characters like Rama, Sita, Bharat, Laxman, Kaushalya, Kaikeye, Sumitra, King Jataka were beautifully portrayed in the play. The ace archery skills of Rama, Rama-Sita wedding, Sage performing Yaga and others scenes added wonderful dimension to the play.
The play enthralled the audience and captivated their minds, delicately narrating the balance between adventure and spirituality. Overall, the play focused on Dasharata stage to Rama's victorious homecoming with Sita from Sri Lanka.
The charity show was held in support of destitute, deprived and diseased children of Prashanth Nilaya, White Doves and Cardts Samvedana.
The play was directed by Prof Maria Phyllis D’Costa.
