Mangalore: Bearys Welfare Forum to Host Mass Wedding Ceremony on Nov 4

Mangalore, Nov 2: Bearys Welfare Forum (BWF), Abu Dhabi will organize a mass marriage ceremony for 15 couples on Sunday November 4 at Milagres Church Hall at 10 am, said Mohammed Ali Uchil, BWF president, addressing a press meet here on Friday November 2.
The forum has been engaged in a number of social service works in Mangalore as well as abroad. It has been striving to create awareness on social responsibilities.
"The mass wedding ceremony has been arranged in order to support people who are financially backward, orphans and the ones who are against dowry system and lavish marriages. The first mass wedding ceremony by BWF was held in 2008 in Mangalore, and this the 4th year of this programme," Uchil said.
This year, the couples chosen are not only from Mangalore and Dakshina Kannada, but also from Udupi and Chikmagalur.
The Nikah will be solemnized by Mangalore Qazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar. Udupi Qazi P M Ibrahim Musliyar will inaugurate the event.
UAE Exchange COO Y Sudhir Shetty, Althaf Kateeb of Suhail Al Mazroei Trading Co, Abu Dhabi, B Ahmed Haji Mohiuddin of Mohiuddin Educational Trust, former MLA B A Moideen, Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, MLA U T Khader and others will take part in the programme.
BWF will offer each bride 4.5 sovereigns of gold, dress and Rs 10,000. Each groom will be presented Rs 10,000.
The forum regularly conducts various programmes in Abu Dhabi in association with entrepreneur B R Shetty and Billawa Associations abroad with a, he added.
