Mangalore: 'Ampicon 2012' National Conference of Docs Inaugurated

Mangalore, Nov 2: 'Ampicon 2012', the 33rd National Conference of Association of Medical Physicists of India, hosted by Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore and Manipal and AMPI was inaugurated on Thursday November 1 at TMA International Convention Centre here.
The conference is being held on the theme 'Frontiers in Medical Physics-Innovation and Challenges'.
The three-day conference was inaugurated by S S Bajaj, chairman, Pro Active Radio Energy Board. H S Ballal presided over the function. Dr Kamalaksh Shenoy, Dr Venkataraya Prabhu, Dr Surendra v Shetty, Dr D D Deshpande and Dr Chellapalli were present during the coference.
Addressing the gathering after the inauguration, S S Bajaj said that there are nearly 300 radio therapy centres and 500 tele therapy centres in India.
"This association has laudable objectives and responsibilities. The objectives have been very effectively followed and this conference is a live example of that," he added.
The conference will conclude on November 3.
Numerous doctors and physicists from all over the country and abroad are participating in the conference.
