Bangalore, Nov 2: Catholic Priests Conference of India (CPCI) National Excellence Award for diocesan priests will be conferred on Fr Joe Mary Lobo, founder of Sri Christa Sharan Social Development Society (SCS).
SCS is a registered voluntary organization which works towards the development of certain villages. Their services towards the Chikmagalur district have been well appreciated and they are looking forward to expand their services.
SCS had been rendering service chiefly in the district of Chikmagalur, in 55 villages of the Kadur taluk. But now, it has extended its service, especially under the joint forest programme to villages in 28 forest ranges in the two districts of Chikmagalur and Shimoga.
The National Excellence award will be conferred on Fr Lobo at the CPCI silver jubilee function at 5:30 pm on November 7 at the Sacred Heart Church, Bangalore.
Fr VP Joseph Valiyaveetil (Allepey diocese) and Fr Thomas Joseph Therakam (Mananthavady diocese) are the other two awardees for this year.
An interaction with the awardees will be held on November 7 at 8:30 am at ISI, Bangalore.
