Nairobi, Nov 2 (IANS): At least two poachers have been killed and four other suspects arrested in separate incidents in Kenya, following intensified anti-poaching operations in the country.
Two suspected poachers were gunned down in a fire fight near Nyeri town, central Kenya early Thursday, Xinhua quoted Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) spokesperson Paul Mbugua as saying.
He said a G3 rifle and seven rounds of ammunition were recovered.
"In Nairobi County, three suspects have been arrested trafficking ivory in two separate incidences early this morning (Thursday)," Mbugua said in a statement issued in Nairobi.
