Mangalore: C T Ravi Inaugurates Newly-built Boys Hostel Building at Kadri

Mangalore, Nov 1: District in-charge minister C T Ravi on Thursday November 1 inaugurated the new building of the boys' hostel for post-matriculation students at Kadri. The hostel building was built at a cost of Rs 1.91 crore.
DK district administration, DK zilla panchayat and social welfare department jointly organized the programme.
Addressing the gathering, C T Ravi said, "Education transforms life and directs it towards a better path. Hence the state government has given priority to the uplifting of rural and economically poor students. Students should dream big and engage in studies with the aim of becoming an asset to the society."
Presiding over the programme, legislative assemby deputy speaker N Yogish Bhat said that he would urge the government to accommodate another 100 students in the hostel so that poor students from distant places would benefit.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, the chief guest said that the BJP-led state government is focusing on the construction of hostels.
"The state government reserved Rs 15,000 crore for education in the Rs one lac crore budget. Value-based education inculcating the culture of the land has been given priority in the state. Quality of education has improved more than in many private schools in the state," he said.
MLC Monappa Bhandary, MCC commissioner Dr Harish Kumar DK ZP president Koragappa Naik, DC Dr N S Channappa Gowda, deputy mayor Amithakala, MUDA chairman Ramesh, corporator Roopa D Bangera, ZP CEO Vijay Prakash among others were present.
