Gujarat will Celebrate Diwali again Dec 20: Modi

Gandhinagar, Oct 31 (IANS): Gujarat will celebrate Diwali on Nov 13 along with the rest of the country and then on Dec 20 when the results of the state election would be counted, Chief Minister Narendra Modi said Wednesday as he renewed his attack on the Manmohan Singh-led central government.

"The people of Gujarat will celebrate Diwali twice this year. Once in November, and then once again on Dec 20, when the BJP wins the election," Modi told a rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party's youth wing.

He attacked the opposition Congress, accusing them of "spreading lies" about him and alleging that the party was "wasting our hard-earned money".

"But all this is not going to work. Even today, five years after the last polls, the people of Gujarat still love the BJP," said Modi.

He also again attacked the prime minister. "Manmohan Singh has completed eight years in power. And till today, he does not have the courage to see us eye-to-eye."

He appealed to the youth BJP workers to spread out into the state's villages and tell people that the party was with them.

"Tell the people of Gujarat's villages that their development is our duty and that we are doing it.

"We have done, learnt and achieved a lot in these 10 years. And we will continue to do so after we come to power again," Modi said.

Gujarat goes to the polls Dec 13 and 17. Vote counting will be on Dec 20.

Modi has used the services of APCO an American PR firm to build his image. This is the same firm that helped PR for George Bush, but we know in reality what he was.

Why does an Indian politician need an American PR firm, that too one connected closely with the power structure of Washington.

Gujarath was the most developed state even before Modi came in and remains so now. But he seems to take credit for everything.

Modi hires big multi national P.R agency and he projects 10 times more than what actually he has achieved in Gujarath. I wish all the politicians get a good P.R. like him, he is smart guy.

“Modi must know that both Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi were on the cover of TIME magazine. Neither was the top actress of their time, but managed to be there courtesy the sensation they created. Modi too is just a sensation. The reality will soon bite the Gujarati voter.”

“Two-hundred years ago, Ahmedabad’s businessmen traded in silk with China Narendra Modi was not born then. Hundred years ago, the topmost textile mills in Gujarat were set up Modi was not born then. Fifty years ago, Gujarat got Amul Modi was a kid then. Thirty years ago, the largest fertiliser plants were set up in Bhavnagar and Ankleshwar Modi was not active in politics. So, who should stake claim for Gujarat’s progress is anyone’s guess.”

All pre poll survey reports conducted by various agencies and TV channels predicting that Yes Modi & Gujarat is going to celebrate second Diwali of this year on 20th Dec. I am really proud of Gujarat & Modi. Nobody can deny that today Gujarat is Role model in development. The only state where election is won on development issue. Shame on Modi bashers!. In democracy one must respect people verdict. Modi bashers can keep screaming till 20 dec just to satisfy themselves. Dont think that you people are more intelligent than 6 crore Gujaratis.
