Mangalore: Shreyas Rao Bags Four Gold Medals in State Aquatic Championship

Mangalore, Oct 30: For the first time in the last two years a Mangalorean lad has earned a treasure of gold medals in the aquatic championship organized by department of public instruction at Bangalore recently.
M Shreyas Rao of Canara Urva High School has won 4 gold medals and one silver medal in the state school games Federation Aquatic Championship for 2012-13.
He has brought laurels to Mangalore by earning gold in 50 meters breast stroke, 200 meters individual medley, 50 meters butterfly and 400X100 meters relay and one silver in 400X100 meters medley relay.
He missed the state meet championship by just a few feet, but has been selected to represent Karnataka state in the national school games championship to be held at Pune Maharashtra starting from November 21, according to his coach Ramakrishna Rao. He has been trained by Umesh.
