Udupi: Bharat Parikrama Yatra Gets Rousing Welcome

Udupi, Oct 28: "With a view to promote peace, harmony and equality, this Bharat Parikrama Yatra has been organized. There has been immense support by all the communities during the past 78 days of the yatra. There is good public response," said RSS Pracharak Sitaram Kedilaya.
He was speaking at a press conference arranged in Padumane of Hejamadi, after the yatra that started from Kanyakumari in August and is to end in Kashmir, reached Padubidri.
"Village, agriculture and cows are the primary support of our nation. Hence, it is the duty of every citizen to preserve them. In order to foster patriotism and create awareness among the public, this yatra has been undertaken. The yatra was started on the auspicious day when in history, the Quit India Movement began."
Save Village-Save Bharat, Save Agriculture-Save our Culture, Save Your Nature-Save Your Future, Save Cow-Save your Life Now - these are the main mottos of this yatra.
The yatra was given a grand welcome in Udupi by Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Shambu T Shetty, Suprasad Shetty Baikady, Dr Y N Shetty, Dr N T Anchan, Panduranga Shanubagh, Taranath Kotian, Suresh Shenoy, Sunil K R, Dr Y N Padiyar, Prakash Shetty Padebettu, Arun Shetty Hejamadi, Satish Kutyar, Jagadish Adhikari, Uday Kumar Shetty, Ravindra Shetty Kollabettu, Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, Ragavendra Uppor, Sudhakar Hejamady, Shashikanth Padubidri, Pranesh Hejamady, Gururaj Poojary and many others.
The yatra undertaken by Kedilaya is aimed at bringing about rural development and fostering harmony. The yatra will span the length and breadth of the entire country from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on foot, covering over a total of 15,000 km in five years. The yatra was launched in Kanyakumari on August 9.
